The Regenerate Leap Named a Finalist for the 2026 Leadership Book of the Year Award

Finalist23 September 2026

The Institute of Leadership has shortlisted The Regenerate Leap for its 2026 Leadership Book of the Year Award.

The Regenerate Leap: How Leaders Transform Crisis into Enduring Growth has been named a finalist for the 2026 Leadership Book of the Year Award by The Institute of Leadership.

The recognition forms part of the Leadership Live 2026 Awards, which celebrate individuals, organisations and work contributing to leadership practice.

The Institute describes the Leadership Book of the Year Award as:

“Recognising an outstanding leadership book that offers valuable insight, challenges thinking and makes a meaningful contribution to the understanding and practice of leadership.”

The Regenerate Leap is one of ten books shortlisted in the category.

The book argues that resilience is often the wrong objective when the conditions an organisation was designed for no longer exist. Rather than attempting to restore a previous state, leaders need to identify what has become structurally obsolete, build new capacity during disruption and design for the conditions that now hold.

That argument is expressed through the REGENERATE framework, developed from Stuart J. Green’s three decades working with marine systems, institutions and organisations undergoing structural change.

The shortlist was announced by The Institute of Leadership on 8 September 2026.

The winners are due to be announced at the Leadership Live 2026 Awards Ceremony on 29 September 2026.

The Regenerate Leap Named Finalist for 2026 Leadership Book of the Year Award

Stuart J. Green’s The Regenerate Leap: How Leaders Transform Crisis into Enduring Growth has been named a finalist for the 2026 Leadership Book of the Year Award by The Institute of Leadership.

The award recognises an outstanding leadership book that offers valuable insight, challenges thinking and makes a meaningful contribution to the understanding and practice of leadership.

The Regenerate Leap examines what leaders should do when an organisation’s previous operating model no longer fits the conditions it faces. Drawing on Green’s three decades in marine systems science, institutional reform and international advisory work, the book introduces the REGENERATE framework for moving beyond resilience towards structural renewal.

The Regenerate Leap is one of ten books shortlisted for the 2026 award.

The Leadership Live 2026 Awards Ceremony will take place on 29 September 2026.
